Our work

INDEED Projects emerged in Spain in 2024, in a local and regional context marked by increasing social inequalities and threats to fundamental rights, driven by intersecting ecosocial, climate, democratic, migration and mental-health crises. Our work responds through four strategic priorities and six enabling opportunities.

Where our work comes from

INDEED Projects emerged in Spain in 2024, in a local and regional context marked by increasing social inequalities and threats to fundamental rights, driven by intersecting ecosocial, climate, democratic, migration and mental-health crises. We work to open enabling opportunities that help young people, especially young women, respond to these crises and lead the changes they call for.

Six enabling opportunities

  • Intersectional approaches to inequality.
  • Transformative and non-formal education in human rights, gender, ecology and emotional wellbeing.
  • Global and digital youth activism.
  • Innovative and democratic citizen participation.
  • Solidarity-based and circular economies.
  • Cross-sectoral and transnational alliances for democracy, sustainability and social cohesion.

Strategic plan

Four strategic priorities

These priorities guide every project we design. Read our full Strategic Plan 2025–2029 for more detail.

Advancing gender equality

Foster feminist leadership, challenge gender-based discrimination and promote equal rights, opportunities and representation for young women and gender-diverse youth.

  • European Youth Goal #3 — Inclusive Societies
  • SDG 5 — Gender Equality

Expanding lifelong learning opportunities for all

Ensure access to inclusive, flexible and empowering learning opportunities that strengthen young people’s leadership, autonomy and agency.

  • European Youth Goal #8 — Quality Learning
  • SDG 4 — Quality Education

Promoting mental health and wellbeing

Create supportive spaces and share tools that strengthen emotional resilience, mental health, collective care and holistic wellbeing.

  • European Youth Goal #5 — Mental Health & Wellbeing
  • SDG 3 — Good Health and Well-being

Driving sustainable development

Capabilities we bring to our projects

To put our strategic priorities into practice, we draw on five practical capabilities developed over years of youth work. These capabilities support our priorities; they are not a separate strategy of their own.

01

Human rights education

Human rights education gives young people a language for understanding dignity, equality and accountability. We introduce the national and international instruments that protect rights and help participants recognise when those rights are being restricted or violated.

Our work can include training, peer learning, awareness activities and tools for active citizenship. The emphasis is practical: participants connect rights with situations in their own lives and communities.

  • Human-rights workshops
  • Active citizenship learning
  • Rights-based educational materials
  • Youth-led awareness activities
02

Gender equality

Gender equality is both a specialist area and a cross-cutting principle. We address harmful norms, gender-based violence, unequal participation and barriers affecting young women and girls.

Activities may include seminars, awareness campaigns, youth leadership programmes, peer-to-peer workshops, arts and cultural activities, research, online safe spaces and community initiatives led by young women. We use intersectional and differentiated approaches when working with people facing multiple barriers.

  • Youth leadership
  • Peer education
  • Gender-responsive project design
  • Safe digital and community spaces
03

Economic empowerment

Economic empowerment is about more than employment. It includes the confidence, knowledge and practical capabilities people need to make informed choices and build more independent lives.

We work through skills development, financial literacy, digital competencies, entrepreneurial learning, business-incubation approaches and life skills. These methods connect personal development with access to education, work and community opportunities.

  • Financial literacy
  • Entrepreneurial learning
  • Digital and life skills
  • Employability pathways
04

Environmental awareness

Environmental awareness helps young people connect global challenges with decisions in their own schools, neighbourhoods and communities. We approach sustainability through environmental justice, critical thinking and active citizenship.

Our activities may include workshops, eco-clubs, nature-based learning, awareness campaigns, green-skills sessions, eco-challenges and educational materials that make sustainable practices understandable and actionable.

  • Environmental education
  • Green skills
  • Eco-challenges
  • Youth climate participation
05

Digital literacy

Digital participation requires technical skills, critical judgement and safety. We help young people navigate digital spaces, communicate responsibly and understand risks such as cyberbullying and exclusion.

Our work can include digital-skills workshops, online-safety learning, educational games, online courses and support for youth-led digital initiatives. Digital literacy also strengthens access to education, employment and social participation.

  • Digital skills
  • Online safety
  • Educational games
  • Youth-led digital initiatives

A shared method across every project

Participation, inclusion, gender equality, do no harm and purposeful implementation guide all our activities. Digital literacy also works as a cross-cutting dimension because meaningful participation increasingly depends on safe and confident access to digital spaces.
